A Brief Poetry Break
.
YEAH , keep it secret I'm so blessed,
For, I have seen the face of God!
It's found upon a newborn's face,
In that which is the miracle
Of birth and newborn life.
HOW strange it is, that
Such a tiny blood and mucous-covered thing,
(Yeah, with head so strangely formed,)
Indeed, should be the
Most profound beauty,
My eyes have seen, or ever will!
YET, all my blessings I did squander,
All of them, in one fell swoop.
(Please keep my errs a secret, friend,
For yes, indeed, I was a fool.)
FOR, as he grows,
And should he ask,
(And truly, ask he will)
Why daddy has a separate home,
Why mommy has a separate house,
Why each have others in their beds,
Why neither speaks about the other,
‘Cept in dissonant tones...
What shall be the words I choose?
I think, I reflect, I redirect,
I can vaguely remember something once erroneously erect.
I think of how my thing had wandered,
Far and fast away from her.
I think of how his mommy's thoughts
Had wandered fast and far from me.
And, as I walk,
These things I ponder,
En route, to the pawn shop, with
A single band of gold to hock.

Nice... I don't usually read poetry - a glitch in my brain, I think - but this held my interest.
